TKAM post 7 Ch 26-28 as Bob Ewell

Revenge

I simply hate this town and everyone who disgraced me at that case. I need time to contemplate what my revenge strategy will be. I want to get back at the Finches, Judge Taylor, and that Robinson wife! Simply inconveniencing them will simply not suffice. I will make them all sorry for destroying my fine image!
I sent Burris out to spy on the Finch children today by looking through the school window. I told him to listen for any plans for hold a school gathering, a chance to find the Finches alone, without their father. Such a gathering would give me an excellent opportunity to ambush those rats for standing up for the blacks when they should be persecuted. When Burris returned home, his assessment of his eavesdropping adventure was that it would be an excellent time to see the Finch children alone after the Maycomb Pageant that Jean Louise’s teacher was putting on. It is decided then.
The first person I decided to exact my revenge on was Judge Taylor. Late Sunday evening, when everyone SHOULD have been at church, I decided to break into Judge Taylor’s house and steal things to sell down in Mobile. I would have been rich, and Taylor would have been extremely angry. Unfortunately, shortly after cutting open the screen door into Taylor’s kitchen, I heard loud footfalls headed towards me. I scurried away from the house, I heard the shotgun cock and the door swing open. I waited down low in the bushes, until Taylor went back inside. I hid underneath the windowsill of his study until I heard his wife open the door. As I slipped away into the night, I heard her voice say, “Lord! Why is the shotgun in your lap?”
I was going to get Helen Robinson next. More than anything, I wanted to make her pay for what her husband did to me. Link Deas had allegedly given her a job to make up Tom’s salary, but I wanted to make sure. One day, I sat out on the front porch chewin’ tobacco and waitin’ for Robinson to walk by. Sure enough, I saw her slowly walking down the public road towards Link’s house. When she got in front of the fence, I started spittin’ and swearing at her, making threats that I would get my revenge for what her family did to me. For a long while, I didn’t see Helen walking down the public road again. After about two weeks, I saw Helen again. This time, I jumped up out of my rocking chair on the porch and followed Helen down the public road towards Link’s Place. After about ten minutes after she disappeared inside, I was confronted by Mr. Deas, who said that if I didn’t leave at once, he would have me for assault. And if not assault, under the Ladies Law. I got out of there fast, he meant every word he said.
As for my final act of revenge, I will strike down Atticus right where it would hurt him most, at his children. I have the whole thing planned out. After the pageant, I will offer the Finch children a ride home. If they consent, then I will teach them a lesson right then and there. However, if they do not, I will simply follow them home in the dark and stab them under the cover of night. I will teach that Atticus Finch that he chose the wrong person to make a fool of. I have my things packed, and I must burn this journal so that if anything arises from this, I will not be discovered. Goodbye.

I love how you talked about Bob's revenge in the first paragraph. The little details like Burris spying on them that weren't in the story amazed me. I especially like the ending. This was one of the few blog posts I actually wanted to read!
